Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy in the Saudi EFL Classrooms

Benjamin Bloom developed his taxonomy of cognitive objectives Bloom's Taxonomy in the 1950's. This classified and systematic thinking skills and objectives. His taxonomy follows the thinking process. You can not understand a concept if you do not first remember it, similarly you can not relate knowledge and concepts if you do not understand them. It is a range from Lower Order Thinking Skills to Higher Order Thinking Skills. Bloom tags each type with a gerund.

Bloom’s Taxonomy is not evident in Saudi EFL classrooms. Teachers in Saudi Arabia usually apply only first three level of Bloom’s taxonomy in teaching context. They have to develop their teaching process to give student a chance to analyze and evaluate also to become creative.
As a future teacher, I would like to use Bloom’s taxonomy with my students because it gives them a chance to be more creative, autonomous learner, and it operate their cognitive skill.
